12-day Berber culture luxury tour from Marrakech

Day 1: Arrive at Marrakech

Ya Marhaba ! Welcome to Morocco! Your guided Morocco Tours starts a Pick-up from airport and transfer to your hotel  by experienced drivers  in Marrakech where you will be staying for the next three nights.

Day 2: Exploring Marrakech

Your excusions in Morocco start just, After breakfast, your skilly guide will come to your accommodation and you will begin a walking tour of the important and famous sites around the medina. Popular ones are the 19th-century Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, El Badi Palace and some very interesting museums. We can arrange an afternoon tour of the Majorelle Gardens and the Berber Museum in the new town. Souks and Jemaa el Fna square are also included. Overnight in Medina.

Day 3: Day trip to Ourika Valley and the Berber trail

For this day of your tours of Morocco, you will go deep into the heart of the High Atlas region, where many valleys and villages are hidden. Ourika Valley is a fertile green valley with clear water flowing down from the mountains. Here you will discover Amazigh or Berber culture and traditions. In the afternoon, your shell return to your accommodation in Medina.

Day 4: Marrakech – Ijoukak – Tizi n’Test Pass – Taroudant

We left the Red City and followed the road to the market town of Asni, through the red landscape to Uirgan. Following the Nfis River, we pass through ancient Berber villages to the cradle of the Almohad dynasty, where we stop to visit the 12th-century mosque in Tinmal, before driving through Ijoukak and continuing to the mountain pass of Tizi n’Test. Below, the landscape flattens as we descend to the town of Taroudant

Day 5: Exploring Taroudant

For the fifth day of your Morocco day tours, after breakfast, we will explore this walled medina in the Anti-Atlas mountains high on the Atlantic coast. Nicknamed Little Marrakech, you’ll find interesting Berber jewelry shops in the souks. Overnight in Medina.  ….Visit one of the co-ops to learn more about the process and taste the products.

Day 6: Taroudant – Argan National Park – Tafraout

 AS a major and favorite part of your Amazigh culture tour, you will be invited to visit the region is a major argan growing area and much of it has been declared a national park to protect the tree and its valuable product. Moroccan Gold is often the name given to Argan Oil, which is hand-extracted from the nuts of the Argan tree. You can stop by one of the cooperatives to learn about the process and taste the products.Then our Guided tour shell continue as we drive south to Tavlaut, the almond capital deep in the Anti Atlas Mountains, where you will spend the next 2 nights

Day 7: Exploring Tafraout

Today, our Morocco travel Packages  is about a relaxing day exploring the city and surrounding countryside. It has unusual rock formations painted by a Belgian artist. In spring, apricot blossoms are fragrant, and bees come to pick flowers. Shopping is easy and the artisans at Tafraout make some very attractive shoes. Overnight in Teflaut.

Day 8: Tafraout – Tata

After breakfast, our skilly drivers and experienced guides will  drive you to Tata. Throughout this vast and remote land, you’ll see nomadic Berbers with their herds of goats and sheep, their tents near water sources. This  day tour can only be done in 4×4 and here you will see why. These are desert areas with mountains and rocky deserts. In the evening you will arrive at Tata where we will spend the night.

Day 9: Tata – Foum Zguid – Chegaga Desert

One of our favorite part of this  excursions from Marrakech, is about to start. You are now in the deep south of Morocco, an area that mixes mountains, rocky deserts, dry rivers, lakes and sand dunes. You’ll see all of this today as we head to the high dunes of Chegaga Sahara desert tour , where you’ll spend the night in a desert camp. Many Amazigh families live in the area and you may notice different dialects. Music is at the heart of the Amazigh culture, and after dinner you’ll enjoy live performances by the campfire.

Day 10: Chegaga – Mhamid – Tamegrout – Zagora

You may have watched the desert sunset last night, but the best time is sunrise of our Morocco Desert Tours. You’ll wake up in time to get up and face the new day. We followed off-road trails through the desert to Dam Hamid. The last city before the Sahara. We meander along the Deira Valley through once-populated palm groves and mud villages. In Tamegroute, we stop to visit a pottery workshop with unique green glazed ceramics and a Koran library. Along this valley you will notice many  amazing kasbahs all the way to Zagora  where there is an ancient ksar with many more hidden within its walls. We spend the night in Zagora.

Day 11: Zagora – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After breakfast, we depart for a spectacular day trip to Zagora and travel along the Draa Valley to Ouarzazate, Morocco’s film capital. There are a number of film studios and sets located there. After Ouarzazate, we take a detour to see the ksar of Ait Benhaddou : a UNESCO world heritage, which has been featured in many blockbuster films such as The Gladiator, Prince of Persia, and Kingdom of Heaven. Martin Scorsese uses this location frequently in his films. We continue down the Ounila Valley, stopping to see the incredible Telouet Kasbah before crossing the High Atlas at the Tizi n’Tichka pass and descending through numerous Berber villages to arrive in Marrakech in the evening.

Day 12: Departure
