The entire day will be spent to exploring Marrakesh, the “Pearl of the South,” after breakfast at the hotel. The city acquired a significant number of museums and architectural landmarks as a result of its status as one of the Kingdom’s capitals under the rule of the three Moroccan sultanate rulers. The city’s monuments are all works of art. We’ll spend the entire morning getting to know them (the Koutoubia Mosque, the Majorelle Gardens, the Manara Pavilion encircled by olive groves, the tombs of the Saadian sultans, the Bahia Palace, an excellent example of palace construction, and El Badii Palace. You will visit the most vibrant market in Morocco and the well-known Jemaa El Fna plaza after lunch. This is a true outdoor theater where you can see snake charmers, healers, sorcerers, fruit vendors, and traders of rare spices.
We will transport you through the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass in the Atlas Mountains to reach Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most picturesque settlements and a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status. After that, the journey will continue toward the sizable African filmmaking facility in Ouarzazate, where a number of well-known films, including The Mummy, Gladiator, and Kingdom of Heaven, have been shot. After lunch, you will go to DADES Gorges where you will spend the night in a hotel with a complimentary meal and breakfast. We will travel by the Valley of Roses at KELAAT M’GOUNA, known for hosting an annual rose festival, between Ouarzazate and DADES.
Our direction will be Merzouga. On the route, we will pause to take a panoramic photograph close to the charming town of Tinghir, which is situated in the heart of a sizable palm oasis. Visit the renowned Todra Gorge next, and take a stroll along the river and gorge. Later, travel to Rissani to visit “The Fossil Factory” and view the various fossils that this area is so abundant in. then proceed to Merzouga to spend the night in a luxury desert camp after the camel trek.
We will rise early to witness the dawn over the magnificent and serene sand dunes. You’ll remember this incident as one of your most vivid memories of Morocco!
Breakfast is followed by the journey to Fez. Even though it is one of the longer drives—about 7 hours without stops—the change in scenery will make the time fly by.
We will go through one of Africa’s longest valleys, the Ziz River’s gorge and valley, on the way. After stopping for lunch in Midelt, we continue traveling. On our way to Azrou from Ifrane, we will have the opportunity to see the magnificent Atlas cedars and feed the wild monkeys. The monkeys are sociable and enjoy being fed by humans. We’ll make a stop in Ifrane, which boasts a climate similar to that of Europe, parks with lakes and chalets, a ski resort, and a lot of snow in the winter, earning the nickname “Moroccan Switzerland” for the city. We shall reach Fez for the night in an hour.
We’ll go touring in the Kingdom’s center of culture and religion. As you stroll through the ancient Medina’s winding streets and learn about the numerous historical and architectural landmarks that once adorned the former capital of the Kingdom of the Sultans from the Merinid and Alaouite dynasties, you will be immersed in the enchanted atmosphere of a medieval oriental city.
The majority of these structures are superb illustrations of Moorish architecture. The Bu Inanya mosque, the madrassas (Muslim universities), Nejarin Square, and the fountain will all be on your itinerary. Your current location is the handicraft district, where Moroccan Lanterns, leather and ceramic artisans practice the techniques passed down from their great-grandfathers and grandfathers, whose trade secrets have been carefully passed down down the generations. The still-existing Jewish neighborhood will be our next stop. It demonstrates how the two communities—Muslims and Jews—coexist.
If you have an early flight home, we will leave Fes the day before after the sightseeing tour to be close to the airport. If you are flying out from Fes, you can enjoy some free time for shopping for Moroccan souvenirs before being transferred to the airport
